In order to commemorate Living Wage Week 2016, a UK-wide celebration of the Living Wage movement, United Carlton unveil a 20ft banner on the side of the office building.
The Living Wage Foundation organises Living Wage Week every year as a sustained promotion of the movement. Living Wage accredited employers join in and use their influence to promote the practice of paying employees a fair wage for a day’s work, with the overall aim of increasing the uptake among employers.
As an accredited Living Wage employer, United Carlton are only too happy to do our bit to promote the Living Wage movement and have chosen to advertise our status as a Living Wage employer on the side of our building via a vinyl banner. The banner is in clear view of the A1 road, the busiest main road in the North East, and is seen by many thousands of motorists each day.
Managing Director John Watson said “We’re using a high-visibility spot on the side of our office building to advertise our commitment to the Living Wage. Knowing the volume of vehicles that pass by our building, often at slow speeds due to the traffic, we’re hopeful that a few more local business owners will see our banner and join the cause”.
